A new leak has revealed updated European pricing for the Edge 40 Pro, Motorola’s next global flagship smartphone. Contrary to earlier leaks, Motorola has priced the Edge 40 Pro at €100 higher than the Edge 30 Pro.
Leaker @_snoopytech_ has shared new details about the Edge 40 Pro and its impending European release. To recap, Appuals claimed in January that Motorola would announce the Edge 40 Pro during MWC 2023, which ran between February 27 and March 2. Not only did that prove not to be the case, but new information provided by @_snoopytech_ suggests that the smartphone will not retail for €849, either.
Supposedly, Motorola still plans to offer the Edge 40 Pro with a sole 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage option. In comparison, Motorola sells the Moto X40 on which the Edge 40 Pro is based, with three memory configurations ranging from 8 GB RAM and 128 GB to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. The pair are identical in other areas though, with a 6.67-inch and 165 Hz display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 125 W fast charging.
Additionally, the Edge 40 Pro has 50 MP primary, 50 MP ultra-wide and 12 MP telephoto cameras. Moreover, the device will launch with the same Lunar Blue colourway as the Moto X40. It remains to be seen whether the latter’s black colourway will also be available for the Edge 40 Pro. According to @_snoopytech_, Motorola has priced the Edge 40 Pro at €899. In other words, the Edge 40 Pro will be €100 more expensive than last year’s Edge 30 Pro. A release date remains unknown for now, although we suspect that Motorola will launch the Edge 40 Pro in North America as the Edge Plus (2023).
